4 Step Process to Joy

JOY. JOY. JOY. IT’S ALL THERE FOR ME” blast from the speakers. Again. Perhaps, this time, even louder…“JOY. JOY. JOY. IT’S ALL THERE FOR ME”.

The music reverberates from chair to chair. The crowd revolts into violent clapping. Bodies are gyrating. Hands are waving to the sky as if God himself will show up to the San Gabriel Hilton Hotel.

Waiting To See The Invisible

We are all waiting to see an invisible creature. Looking, peering above the rows in front of us to spot an ephemeral blaze of colors. Everyone in this room has one thing in common…Abraham Hicks. But before I get into that, let’s rewind a little, shall we?

It’s Sunday morning. I’ve left three kids and a husband behind to attend my very first Law of Attraction seminar. I’m not quite sure what I’m looking for except to witness with my own eyes the famous author, notorious for her ability to access “source.” Call it God, angels, the spirits above … the bottom line is that the communication is with another dimension.

Finding My Place … (In Life & Literally)

I arrive 45 minutes early for a close seat. Turns out I’m 45 minutes late. The front 50 rows are taken. The audience is thirsty to sit close to the stage…an inch closer to the energy they so desire to inherit. Maybe they can catch it in the air and put it in their purse for a rainy day.

Perhaps we are all hoping to grab on to the sensation of energy that will magically shift all the blockages inside of us and open the portal to euphoria.

I find an isle seat in the last row of what looks like a wedding hall. The room is full of eclectic characters, no two alike. Different life circumstances. Different motives. Different levels of desperation to change.

To my right, a morbidly obese man in his 30s inching close to the edge of his chair to avoid the humiliation of occupying two seats. To my left a young college girl with a flower-power dress clutching on to the seams of her torn pantyhose. Directly to my front, a pretentiously upright seated woman wearing an Ethiopian head scarf the height of a giraffe’s neck fully covering my view of the stage. And behind me a stiff-faced blonde in her 40s wearing a provocatively short skirt with knee-high boots while holding on to the hand of her 20-year-old boyfriend.

I sit in this chair, designated to ME. We found each other in the midst of this day. I don’t push my way to the front and I accept that my view is obstructed because my intentions are not. I was meant to be here. Right here. On this chair. And here I will be.

Who is Abraham Hicks?

She appears. She is known as Abraham Hicks, a plain Jane woman in her late 50s. She poignantly takes the stage. Six deep breaths is all it takes for her to contact source energy. And suddenly source energy arrives. The shuffling of notebooks and papers stop. There is no exorcism-like performance. No sparkles glittering in thin air. The source arrives with little to no razzle dazzle. Her voice merely takes a subtle shift … it becomes the soundbox of an all-knowing spirit.  Except now she is imparting wisdom though a source energy (like a vibrational essence who holds the answers to all of life’s tests). So, what are those answers?

1)    Commit To a Clear Asking

We want so many things from the universe. We desire them. We think about them. But do we truly ask for them? Have we even tried to sound out what asking for it feels like? Could it be that the “asker” inside of us doesn’t truly believe we deserve or can attain what we are asking for? The asker among us deprives us in the “receiving.” We are caught up with justifying, proving we deserve what we are asking for with suffering … when source entity reminds us : how can we receive when we ask from a place of lack? In other words, the question (the ask) and the answer (the receiving) are on different vibrations.

Every moment we are alive we are stepping into a field of gravity. We must pay attention to how life comes to us and how we adapt to what is coming to us. Do we wait with negative anticipation? The pessimism can slow us down … do we allow for that? A clear asking and a clear believing in what we are asking for is at the heart of the journey.

2)    Pick Your Island Wisely

The next question “Source Energy” poses towards the audience…what island are you living on? Let’s find out. Imagine that we send all the criminals in the world to islands instead of prisons. Each island is categorized by like-minded crime. There are thieves on one island, murderers on another… you get the picture. And really … this is how we are living right now. We live on vibrational islands.

For example, if you feel like a victim, you attract victims and co-exist vibrationally on the same island with other victims. If you feel like a boss, you attract other people with the same energetic frequency who feel in control over their trajectory. The takeaway here is that we can leave the island at any time and more importantly, we choose the island we are on.

3)    Protect Your Bag of Marbles

Now imagine a bag of marbles, says “The Source.” Inside, there are a handful of marbles representing all your vibrations. Everything you have lived has contributed to it. For example, if growing up your mom said “we don’t have enough money to send you to college” you have a marble in there for a scarcity vibration.

Not all the marbles in your bag are activated. The ones activated are the ones that become your point of attraction. Notice most of the marbles were initiated subconsciously. The law of attraction matches how you FEEL … agh ha!

Most of us look around and wonder “I have these bag of marbles. I don’t know how I got it but it’s controlling my life.” Not all marbles are created equal. We have the capacity to choose which ones to activate and which ones to deactivate. which is achieved through consistent awareness. Take periodic inventory of your life!

4)    Follow the Feels

Our inner being is always tuned in to what feels good and serves our essence. The inner-being (if we are in tune with it) is never pushing against anything. Your inner-most being never has opinions. Its essence is the path of least resistance. We turn thoughts to things by adjusting our point of attraction.

You are the creator and your life informs you. Make decisions based on how you feel. If communicating with someone FEELS good, calibrate to it. If talking to someone doesn’t feel good, don’t calibrate to it because you will get lost. Your “feels” are the compass that will always inform you.

Joy. Joy. Joy. It’s there for ALL OF US.
